Privacy Policy
IRT Open Book does not collect your information. The app makes no network requests at all: everything you enter stays on your device, and in your own private iCloud account if you are signed in — the developer never sees it.
What the app collects
IRT Open Book stores only what you enter and what you do in the app, and it stores it on your device. That is your candidate details — rank, name, and service number — along with the answers you select, which sections you have completed, and how long you spend on each question.
The app asks for no system permissions. It does not use the camera, the photo library, your location, your contacts, or the microphone, so there is nothing to grant and nothing to decline.
There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no developer-operated servers.
What leaves your device
By default, nothing. Every exam question and every chart is bundled inside the app, so it works with no signal at all. The app contains no code that contacts a server, and it never transmits your answers or your details anywhere.
If you are signed in to iCloud, the app keeps a copy of your progress in your own private iCloud account so it carries between your devices. That copy is held under Apple's iCloud terms and your Apple ID settings. The developer has no access to it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, the app simply saves to that device only, and the home screen says so.
The PDF completion report is generated on your device. You choose whether to share it, and where it goes — nothing is sent automatically.
Third parties
None. IRT Open Book contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and it includes no third-party code of any kind. It makes no requests to any service, including the developer's.
Deleting your data
Reset all data, on the app's home screen, erases your candidate details, every answer, and every attempt — both on the device and in the copy held in your iCloud account. Deleting the app removes the copy on that device.
Children
IRT Open Book is intended for adult aircrew of the Canadian Armed Forces. It is not directed at children, and it collects no information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page changes with it. There is no mailing list; the version posted here is always the current one.
Not an official government application
IRT Open Book is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official application of the Department of National Defence or the Canadian Armed Forces. The exam content is governed by the DICP; the app is a study aid and is not a substitute for the published material or for the direction of your chain of command.
