Privacy Policy
ICP Toolkit does not collect your information. The forms you complete stay on your device: the app has no accounts, contacts no server of the developer's, and the developer never sees a candidate's name, service number, or grades. The only thing that can leave your device is your own settings, and only to your own iCloud account — never a form.
What the app collects
Nothing is collected by the developer. The app stores what you enter, on your device, in its own private storage. That is the content of the CF 456 forms you complete — the candidate's rank, name, service number and flying times, the test details, the grades you award, and the remarks you write — along with the defaults you set for your own organisation.
The app asks for no system permissions. It does not use the camera, the photo library, your location, your contacts, or the microphone.
There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, and no developer-operated servers.
What leaves your device
No form ever does. The app contains no code that contacts a server, and nothing you fill in is transmitted by the app. One thing does leave — your own settings, to your own iCloud account, automatically whenever you are signed in. Both cases are set out below.
Form and candidate data never syncs. Names, service numbers, grades and completed forms are held on the device that created them and are not copied to iCloud or anywhere else automatically.
If you are signed in to iCloud, the app keeps a copy of your settings — your division, unit, testing unit, and the default signing authorities you have configured — in your own private iCloud account, so a second device you own starts out configured the same way. That is organisational configuration, not test data. It is held under Apple's iCloud terms and your Apple ID settings, and the developer has no access to it.
Files you create go only where you send them. The completed CF 456 is generated on your device and shared through the standard iOS share sheet, at the moment you choose and to the destination you choose. The same is true of the candidate intake form you send out and the completed one you read back in.
Third parties
None. ICP Toolkit contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The PDF machinery it uses to fill the official form is bundled inside the app and runs offline; it makes no requests to any service, including the developer's.
Protected information is your responsibility
A completed CF 456 contains protected personal information about a named member. Handling it correctly — where it is stored, what device it is processed on, and who it is sent to — is governed by the orders that apply to you, and those decisions belong to you, your chain of command, and your security authority. The app states this on first launch and asks you to acknowledge it.
The developer cannot see your forms and cannot retrieve, delete, or disclose them.
Deleting your data
Deleting a form in the app removes it from the device. Deleting the app removes every form on that device along with it. Settings you have synced to your own iCloud account are removed through your Apple ID, in Settings › iCloud, the same way as for any other app.
A PDF you have already exported and sent somewhere is outside the app's reach; it lives wherever you filed it.
Children
ICP Toolkit is a professional tool intended for Instrument Check Pilots of the Canadian Armed Forces. It is not directed at children, and it collects no information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page changes with it. The version posted here is always the current one.
Not an official government application
ICP Toolkit is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official application of the Department of National Defence or the Canadian Armed Forces. The CF 456 and the orders governing instrument rating tests are Crown documents; this app is a working aid that helps you complete the form, and it is not a substitute for the published material or for the direction of your chain of command.
